InDigenous Connections at rocky mountain national park

The Indigenous Connections project aims at promoting better representation of tribal nations at the National Park level. This project is ongoing, but to date we have facilitated creative workshops amongst project partners, developed new interpretive exhibits and humanities programs at Rocky Mountain National Park, built and launched an online creative web platform where park visitors can explore Indigenous history and connections to the park region, and we have recently completed initial development of an Indigenous Connections podcast series.

native peoples and the zane grey museum

This project facilitates a creative response to the work of Zane Grey, whose house is now a museum on NPS land in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. The project engaged Native perspectives on and experiences with the myths that were perpetuated through Zane Grey’s writing. As a community-based humanities project, we responded to the lasting effects of the myths of the American West on the Native communities that have lived there since time immemorial, focusing on the Navajo and Paiute peoples.
